Teachers, are you tired?

This is a transcript of the video below.

Less is more, simple is better. Focus on the learning objectives.

Hindi lahat ng apps, kailangan. Choose the educational technology that will support you.

You are not on-call, even though you are working from home. Set your boundaries.

Amen.

Happy teacher’s month to all our heroic teachers. Let’s take good care of them. For a fruitful life, join me in another episode of Coffee and Prayer.

Teachers, students and parents are exhausted as the result of the pandemic. Many of our teachers are heroes: they desire to give their best for the sake of their students.

However, there are limitations to their superhero hearts. We remember that even the Lord Jesus slept at the helm of the boat after teaching.

Luke 8:23

It is important for us teachers to keep everything simple. We may want to give more than what is asked of us, but with the restrictions of the pandemic, we need to teach what is enough. Less is more, simple is better. Focus on the learning objectives.

We don’t need to learn all apps. Choose the educational technology that will support us. Nothing beats collaboration between teachers in creating the lesson plans and sharing of teaching resources. In helping each other, the burden of online teaching is taken off our backs.

Do not forget that there are work boundaries. We are not on-call, though we are working from home. Set our boundaries. Be an exemplar of self-care. Our emotional state can affect our students.

Let us pray. O Lord, bless us, teachers with the graces we need so that we will be able to impart on our students what you taught us. Amen.
