How do you find meaning in your life?

This is a transcription of the video below:

Wika niya,

“Hangga’t nagsisilbi tayong lakas sa isa’t isa, patuloy nating mapapatunayan na, “the Filipino is worth dying for,’ ‘the Filipino is worth living for,’ at ‘the Filipino is definitely worth fighting for.’”

Amen.

How do you find meaning in your life? For a fruitful life, join me for another episode of “Coffee and Prayer” (Kape’t Pandasal).

Do you feel lost or directionless? Or scatterbrained? Or unhappy with how your life is playing out? Let’s start thinking about your core values. Your core values motivate you and guide your decisions. To live a life full of meaning and purpose is referred to as “living intentionally.”

When the way you behave matches your values, you’re likely to feel satisfied with life. Your values are unique to you, because they are influenced by your life experiences. For example, what matters to you the most: family, friends, personal development, career, love-life, or faith? It is important to summarize one’s life with a “mission statement.”

In 2014, the 5th State of the Nation Address of our former president, Noynoy Aquino III, he mentioned three mission statements that were important to him as our president. He said:

“Until we serve as each other’s strengths, we will prove that “the Filipino is worth dying for,’ ‘the Filipino is worth living for,’ at ‘the Filipino is definitely worth fighting for.’”

These words were lived by his father (Senator Ninoy Aquino), his mother (Pres. Cory Aquino), and him as President of the Philippines. How about you? How do you people to remember you by? We hope that those memories reflect the values that characterized your life.

Let us pray: “O Lord, grant that our behavior and values align in our lives. Amen.”
